Fiery® VUE can be launched directly from Microsoft® (MS) Office 2003 or 2007. It can also be launched as a standalone application. It is designed to open MS documents or PDF files and easily prepares them for printing.
OS and Software Requirements
- Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit, Windows XP 32-bit or Windows Vista 32-bit
Hardware Requirements
- Recommended Display resolution: At least 1024x768 with 16-bit color quality.
- Processor: 400 MHz Pentium processor or equivalent (Minimum); 1GHz Pentium processor or equivalent (Recommended).
- Minimum 512 MB of RAM or higher.
- Hard Disk: Up to 1 GB of available space may be required.
- CD or DVD Drive: Not required.
- Video Support: DirectX. 32 MB Video RAM is recommended.
- Fiery VUE 1.0 works on 32-bit client systems.
Installation Instructions
- Fiery VUE is installed by the user at a client workstation and can be implemented by an IT administrator using standard enterprise installation methods.
- Fiery VUE runs a video board diagnostic in background mode to determine the best rendering settings for the system environment.
Client Installation Steps
- Go to www.efi.com/FieryVUE/Download/.
- Enter registration information. (e.g., name and e-mail address)
- Click on submit button to initiate download.
- Download/run installer.
- Accept EFITM Software License Agreement.
- Download should be complete within a few minutes.
After the Fiery VUE installation is completed, the application will begin an auto-discovery process to search for Fiery-driven printers in the environment. If no Fiery-driven printers are found, the application can be used in “demo” mode.
Enterprise Installation
In an enterprise environment, IT departments will be able to deploy a silent installation of Fiery VUE with System Management Server (SMS). Fiery VUE installer supports:
- MSI Installer.
- Install in quiet mode.
- Installation without requiring administrator rights on the local client.
- Installation without requiring a restart. Some components (i.e., .Net) are outside of EFI’s control and may require reboot.
