2012

  • In Jan., EFI acquired privately-held Cretaprint S.L. based in Castellón, Spain, a leading developer of inkjet printers for ceramic tile printing. EFI plans to accelerate the adoption of digital technology on ceramics across the globe and especially in emerging markets.
  • In Jan., the company celebrated 20 years as a NASDAQ-listed company and began shipping the VUTEk TX3250r fabric printer.
  • In Feb., Fiery technology began driving the latest printers from Konica Minolta, including the bizhub PRESS C8000 and bizhub C754/C654 MFPs.
  • In March, EFI launched the Xerox EX Print Server powered by Fiery for Xerox Corporation's new D95/D110/D125 Copier/Printer, bringing workflow automation and higher image quality to print-for-pay, commercial printers and in-plant CRD providers.
  • In March at the ISA International Sign Expo, the company launched the EFI R3225, a 3.2-meter roll-to-roll, entry-level production UV inkjet printer for sign, banner, POP, and graphics printers who want to deliver stunning images on an expanded set of substrates.
  • In April, EFI acquired Metrics Sistemas de Informação of Brazil. Metrics is a leader in ERP (MIS) systems for the printing and packaging industries in Latin America.
