Join us for “Cycle Connect” January 19, 2016
We will depart from the Wynn and head out to McGhies Cycles in Las Vegas, where we will pick up rental bicycles. From there, we will ride to the Red Rocks Canyon Scenic Loop, ride the loop, and then return to McGhies. This trip is approximately 35 miles, and includes some beautiful scenery which needs to be seen to be appreciated.
This ride is for intermediate level cyclists. It includes some climbing (1,500 feet over 15 miles in the Scenic Loop, and 1,500 feet more over 20 miles out and back) and often includes a headwind on the way to the Loop. As a rule of thumb, if this would be your first ride of the season, it will be very difficult. If you are already 300-400 miles or more into your riding year, this will be enjoyable.
The approximate cost to rent a road bike is $50-$100, depending upon the type of bike you want. Transportation to and from McGhies is included. You will need to bring your shoes. Pedals and helmets are included in the rental.
